What is Creative Arts Therapy?
Creative Arts Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that is offered by qualified practitioners utilising a range of creative modalities. You do not need to be an artist or know how to make art. Creative arts therapy is about attending to the emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual wellbeing of a person. The process is emergent and with the support of a trained therapist, a participant will be able to move through moments of resonance and dissonance to understand more about themselves. By using the materials and the relationship with the therapist, key moments are explored with curiosity. The materials have a way of showing up when words alone in talking therapy may be quite limiting for some.
