Ruth is an accredited Creative Arts Therapist with a Masters in Therapeutic Arts Practice, holding professional membership with ANZACATA. Ruth has a Bachelor Degree in Youth Work with over 20 years working in community, supporting young people and families/ carers. Ruth specialises in supporting those who are experiencing behavioural and developmental concerns, disengagement from school and friends, exposure to traumatic events, and who find it difficult to explore feelings through talking therapies alone. Ruth has extensive experience working with young people and adults impacted by family violence and who require support with repairing attachment and self regulation. Ruth utilises many modalities in her therapeutic work including those found in nature, painting, drawing, clay, sand tray, poetry, movement, puppetry & engaging with recycled material.
